  • What is a lantern?

    It is a battery backed portable lighting device used to illuminate areas inside homes.

  • What are the types of lanterns?
    1. Battery operated: D, AA
    2. Rechargeable: Ni Mh, Lead acid, Li-Ion
  • What are the uses of lanterns?

    The portable nature of a lantern ensures multiple uses for the device. The most common uses of lanterns are:

    1. Inside homes during power outages
    2. Security purpose
    3. During camping/trekking

    The usage of lanterns don't end here; it is used in various other ways to provide lighting in hard to access regions.

  • How to use Eveready Rechargeable Lanterns?
    1. To charge, connect the cord to the socket on the Rechargeable Light & plug it into a mains power outlet.
    2. Indicator LED indicates power ON.
    3. Please charge the lantern for the specified hours as mentioned in the user manual.
    4. To switch ON/OFF, press the button on the Rechargeable Light.
    5. Some of The Rechargeable Lantern has emergency auto ON feature. To activate this mode, the unit should be plugged in to a power outlet & the switch to be placed in ON mode.
    6. Some rechargeable lanterns have AC-DC feature. So it can operate in AC when power is on as well as in DC during power cut.
  • What is Auto ON Feature?

    The Rechargeable Light has emergency auto ON feature. To activate this mode, the unit should be plugged into a power outlet & the switch to be placed in ON mode. In the event of power failure, the Rechargeable Light will light up automatically.

    Alternatively, charge the Rechargeable Light to a state of readiness and switch it ON, when the power fails.

  • What is Deep Discharge Protection?

    An inbuilt circuit will shut down the Rechargeable Light when it gets discharged up to the minimum specified limit. It will automatically go OFF, thus saving the Rechargeable Light from going in to "Deep Discharge" state, resulting in longer life of the Rechargeable Light.

    In such conditions the Rechargeable Light must be charged within 15 specified days mentioned in user manual to prevent damage.

  • What is Overcharge Protection?

    The Rechargeable light has built in Overcharge protection for longer life, which will minimize the effects of overcharging on the battery.

  • What are the maintenance tips for Rechargeable Lights?
    1. Use a cotton swab to clean the Rechargeable Light
    2. The Rechargeable Light may discharge on its own if not used regularly
    3. Please charge the Rechargeable Light immediately when the light goes dim
    4. When not in use, Rechargeable Light must be charged at least once in 6 months
    5. The Rechargeable Light must be in OFF mode when not in use
    6. To prevent damage, keep away from fire, heat & water
    7. Any water entry may cause permanent damage/failure
  • Do's & Don'ts
    1. Make sure the power supply is 230V AC before plugging in the mains cord
    2. To prevent electrical shock and/or fire hazard, do not use the Rechargeable Light if the mains cord is damaged
    3. Please charge the lantern for the specified hours as mentioned in the user manual
    4. When not in use, the Rechargeable Light must be charged at least once in 6 months or as specified in the user manual. Ensure the switch of the Rechargeable Light is in OFF mode when not in use
    5. In regular course of use when the Rechargeable Light gets discharged & automatically goes OFF, it must be charged within specified days mentioned in the user manual to prevent damage. Not charging in time may damage the Rechargeable Light and result into operating time lower than specifications
    6. Rechargeable Light is for indoor use, do not expose to direct sun or rain
    7. Do not cover the Rechargeable Light with cloth, paper, plastic bags or any other material when the light is ON
    8. Never use chemicals to clean the Rechargeable Light
    9. Never keep the Rechargeable Light in fully discharged condition for more than two weeks
    10. Never charge the Rechargeable Light using auxiliary power source like Generator or UPS
    11. Never drop or shake the Rechargeable Light as it may lead to malfunctioning
    12. Never turn upside down. Never disassemble the body of the Rechargeable Light
